Foster City’s History and Why We’re Proud to Serve the Foster City Community
Foster City was built from scratch in the 1960s on reclaimed marshland known as Brewer Island. The master‑planned community is named after developer T. Jack Foster. The first residents moved in 1964, buying homes for less than $18,000.
Constructed with an elaborate lagoon system and plenty of parks, Foster City quickly became known for its waterways, mild climate and high quality of life. The city grew steadily through the 1970s and 1980s, adding schools, shopping centers and a civic center.
Foster City is one of the Bay Area’s wealthier communities. Major employers include Gilead Sciences (6,714 workers), Visa (2,879) and tech firms like Zoox, making the city a significant employment hub despite its small size.
Today Foster City is prized for its safe neighborhoods, excellent schools, and waterfront recreation. We’re delighted to provide plumbing services to this unique planned community.
