Gold Bar’s Rich History and Why We’re Proud to Serve Gold Bar Residents
Gold Bar is a city in Snohomish County, WA, with a storied history. The Skykomish Native Americans initially inhabited the area. However, modern settlement in Gold Bar started in the 1800s when gold was discovered in the Skykomish River, attracting prospectors.
While the city’s name suggests gold mining was the dominant economic activity, its primary industries were actually logging and railroading. Throughout the early 1900s, Gold Bar thrived as a logging center, and the area had several logging companies, including the Gold Bar Lumber Company and Wallace Lumber and Manufacturing.
However, as the decline for timber declined, Gold Bar shifted its focus toward other sectors, primarily tourism. With many spots for hiking, camping, kayaking, and fishing, Gold Bar is a popular tourist attraction with access to the Wallace Falls State Park, Lake Serene Trail, and the Skykomish River, where thrill seekers love to go whitewater rafting.
At Fast Plumbing and Drain, we’re proud to provide plumbing solutions that help homes thrive and endure, just as Gold Bar has for over a century.
