Woodway’s Legacy and Your Home’s Unique Requirements
Back in 1912, David Whitcomb Sr. had a vision. He bought 320 acres and formed a community centred on true country living. Mr Whitcomb ensured that every lot would be at least two acres in size, with plenty of space between homes.
However, in the 1950s, nearby areas started developing rapidly. Nobody wanted their peaceful community ruined by overdevelopment. Hence, the residents came together, and on February 26, 1958, Woodway became an official city to stifle overdevelopment and protect the area’s beloved forests.
Today, Woodway is still special. The area’s commitment to preserving natural beauty and maintaining spacious lots has made it one of Washington’s most prestigious residential communities. The population is about 1,100 residents, and the median household income is around $196,500. The original 2-acre lots in Woodway Park keep that secluded, wooded feel Whitcomb wanted. Other areas have smaller lots (some as small as a third of an acre), but the commitment to green space remains strong.
The community’s emphasis on large lots, custom homes, and keeping the natural setting presents interesting plumbing challenges. For example, you may have a large estate with water features or an eco-friendly home that complements the natural landscape. Either way, your plumbing needs differ from those of a typical suburban house.
We get that. Our plumbers in Woodway understand what makes this community tick, and we work professionally and discreetly to keep your systems running smoothly.
